Olivia Smith is a printmaker and textile artist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Through the repetitive, bodily processes of printmaking and fibers arts, she draws connections between arduous domestic work and the joyous labor of artmaking. Her work investigates gender roles, invisible labor, and productivity as a measure of self-worth. Smith is currently an MFA candidate in Printmaking at Tyler School of Art and Architecture and received her BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago. Her background as a textile designer informs her work through an emphasis on pattern, repetition, and references to the body.
